Next Stop, Happy Town

After yesterday's rant, I am focusing on willing myself out of this melancholy state!! Unlike most of society, I do not rely on pills to lift my spirits. Do not get me wrong, I have nothing against it; it just does not work for me! I get sick if I take a pain killer or sleeping pill, hence no Happy Town. Instead, I am pretty old school and must adopt Fraulein Maria's version of mood lifting - "I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad!" So here we go....
  • Smell of cut grass
  • Waking up to sunshine
  • Fireworks
  • Strangers smiling and saying hello
  • Peanut Butter..mmm
  • Coffee breaks with friends / martinis with friends
  • Dancing
  • Babies learning to walk, a child learning to count
  • Cozy hat, glove and scarf on a cool autumn day
  • Autumn, the smell just excites me
  • The first snowfall and getting to watch it from the window, preferably at night
  • A fire
  • Yankee Candle – Clean Cotton or Country Home..smells like my parents home!
  • Photographs..any, I could spend a day with someone's and be happy
  • Traveling-Mountains, beaches and cities
  • NYC – Home <3
  • Kisses in the palms by my mother - its better than any band-aid
  • Musicians
  • Old couples holding hands, new couples smiling adoringly at one another
  • Butterflies in your tummy
  • A warm embrace
  • The gingerbread Xmas tree decorations
  • Trinket boxes
  • Tomatoes
  • Sand between my toes
  • Dancing in the rain
  • Dinner with my family
  • Old book shops
  • The smell of books
  • A man that reads poetry
  • Woody Allen films
  • My father singing Angel by Jimi Hendrix to me (not the best voice, but its from the heart)
  • Letting out a good cry and feeling cleansed from it
  • Laughing so hard till it hurts
  • A good book
  • Julia, whom I miss terribly - but am happy and blessed to have been her best friend

I could probably go on as the more I think, the more I come up with. It really has lifted my spirits! What are some of the things that make you happy? Make a list and be happy that your world has so many wonderful things! Make others do the same! Its Friday, and we are alive..lets be happy!

Off to the gym for some more spirit lifting! xx

Work gets in the way of everything!

Especially blogging. I am actually supposed to sit at my desk all day AND be productive AND have the correct answer to every question within 23 seconds AND smile as if I am enjoying myself AND be disrespected hourly by a man whose belly is bigger than Santa Clause AND listen to higher up’s complain how hard they work AND do all the tasks they outsource to me because they are too lazy AND be contactable for any reason whatsover, EVEN if it includes my boss not having hot water! Yup, plumber, locksmith, travel agent, interior decorator, accountant are just a few titles I manage…and that is just his personal life. If the Devil Wears Prada, then Lucifer is Wearing Shanghai Tang.

BASTARD!

So, here we are again..

Some feminists may argue that we have not come as far as society would like us to think: suffering oppression and degradation from man. Long away are the days where we once had to fight for the right to vote, but not in the eyes of Radical Feminists. Last time I checked, women could vote, women hold powerful jobs in our government and in some cases; make more then their male counterparts! Don't get me wrong - I too believe that sometimes in life, you run across a "boys club"; but to say we have not evolved since Women's Suffrage (1920) is unfathomable! Do they surf the Internet?!

We have become the biggest contributors to this new blogging culture; everyone has a point of view and is certainly not afraid to share it! Willingly we lay all our cards on the table - dating, relationship and marriage woes; triumphs in the kitchen; political jargon that makes our blood boil; even tips on how to get a bartender to give you that free drink. And why not?! With characters like Carrie Bradshaw, we all aspire to get paid to do what comes most natural to us, talking about ourselves! So, that is what I intend to do - lots of talking from my P.O.V.

My previous blog was really a platform to just say what I was thinking, although I never shared. But, why not?! Perhaps what I had to say I wasn't yet ready to share. But here we are, and here we go....
